Kitchen Water Filter Without RO
For a kitchen setup without RO, I’d probably look at a good undersink carbon system first. I went that route because I didn’t want a separate faucet, tank, or all the maintenance that comes with reverse osmosis. A stainless steel undersink unit is nice if you want something more solid than the usual plastic housing, and carbon block cartridges are usually enough for taste, smell, chlorine, and general everyday filtering. I once checked out this 5 micron filter while comparing options, and what I liked was that they also have cartridges for standard housings, not just one closed system. That matters if you already have a universal 2.5x10 or bigger housing at home. What helped me most was checking the cartridge size, micron rating, and whether it had NSF/ANSI 42 certification before buying anything.

I’ve noticed people often jump straight to the most complex system without thinking about their actual water issue. Sometimes the simpler setup is easier to live with, especially in a normal kitchen where space, installation, and cartridge changes matter more than having every possible feature. Checking compatibility before ordering saves a lot of annoying returns too.
