Is professional interior cleaning worth it if you have pets or kids?
I’ve been debating this for a while and can’t really decide. I have a dog that sheds like crazy and two kids who treat the back seat like a snack storage area. I vacuum and wipe things down myself, but it never feels truly clean, especially the carpets and the weird smells that build up over time. For those of you with pets or kids, is professional interior cleaning actually worth the money, or is it something you end up needing again almost immediately?

I was in almost the exact same situation last year — one golden retriever, one toddler, and a car that somehow always smelled like crackers and wet dog even after cleaning it myself. I used to think professional interior cleaning was kind of overkill, but I eventually tried it out of frustration. What surprised me wasn’t just how much hair and dirt they pulled out of the seats and carpets, but how much better the car felt afterward. The smells were gone, the fabric actually looked lighter, and the leather didn’t feel sticky anymore.
I didn’t go to a shop though — I used a mobile service similar to what’s described here: Interior Car Detailing in Calgary Having them come to my place while I worked was a big plus. It’s not something I’d do every month, but once or twice a year feels totally reasonable, especially if pets or kids are part of your daily reality. It kind of resets the car back to a livable state.
